Manage Your Subscriptions
The process of managing your subscriptions works much as you would expect it to when using traditional credit card payments, but with extra options.
Managing your subscription through your Merchant
Merchants will generally have a flow for managing your subscriptions through an account page, just as they would with credit cards. Simply follow the merchants instructions to cancel, then you can confirm payments have been cancelled by going to the 'Payment Agreements' page on https://app.recurrable.io.
Cancelling Your Subscription through Recurrable
Similar to how apps like PayPal and Google Wallet let you cancel future payments for third party services through their app, Recurrable also allows you to cancel without having to go through potentially difficult cancellation processes on the merchant web site.
- Go to https://app.recurrable.io.
- Log in with the MetaMask account you made your purchase with.
- Click "Payment Agreements"
- Find the subscription you want to cancel and click "Manage / View Details"
- Scroll down and click "Terminate"
Cancel Via Lack of Funding
If you do not have enough funds in your 'Top Up Balance', even if you have it in your wallet, your subscription payment will fail and may be automatically cancelled by the merchant. This is a double-edged sword.
If you received a promotional rate for your service and the payment fails, you might lose that rate forever, depending on your service provider's terms. For services you know you want to keep, it's best to ensure you always keep a couple of months worth of payments in your Top Up Balance and set reminders to reload it. Don't worry. Recurrable offers other ways (i.e. Payment Limits) to make sure merchants cannot charge you extra as can happen with credit cards.
However, if you are the type that wants to try services before committing to recurring payments, you can simply ensure your Top Up Balance is not funded, ensuring the payment will fail. It will be up to the Merchant to reach out to try to get you to resubscribe. If you do nothing, the subscription will likely eventually cancel. If you Top Up again, the payment would go through on a future retry attempt by the merchant.
